Elon Musk targets the moon

Elon Musk, the CEO of Space X, is aiming at the space. He promised to launch a space trip in 2018. He also seems to plan the colonization to Mars.

Houston Chronicle: Elon Musk's urgent moonshot

Donald Trump, the President of the US, is supportive to Musk, whereas he is doubtful to the value of NASA. It may be because shooting the moon is symbolic being consistent with his ideology as making America great again.

Musk's challenge faces some obstacles such as an international treaty. Perhaps, Musk's saying is a little exaggerated. Indeed, the moon trip in 2018 will not include the landing to the moon.

The Conversation: Fly me to the Moon? Why the world should be wary of Elon Musk’s space race

Moon as a destination will no more be a fantasy in the next generation, I think. Nonetheless, colonization in the moon or Mars will not be feasible in the next decade. I will be able to land on the moon within 50 years. But I would not live on the moon.
